1. meet one's needs 욕구를 충족시키다

빈칸이 needs자리에 나온다.

Seniors want the restaurant industry to meet their needs better.

(노인들은 요식 산업이 그들의 욕구를 더욱 더 잘 충족시키기를 원한다.)

2. come into effect 실시되다. 효력이 나타나다

come into effect는 법률 등이 실시되는 것을 가리키는 말이다. 빈칸은 effect자리에 온다.

The new law comes into effect next year.

3. in honor of ~에 경의를 표하여, ~을 축하하여

빈칸이 honor자리나 of자리에 주어진다.

Tonight's ceremony is being held in honor of Graham Willard.

(오늘밤 행사는 그레이엄 윌러드씨에게 경의를 표하기 위해 열립니다.)

4. award a prize 상을 수여하다

award는 어떤 일에 대한 보상으로서 상이나 돈을 준다는 뜻이 있다. 그러므로 목적어로 올 수 있는 것은 prize, scholarship, pay raise(급여인상)등이다.

Several prizes were awarded at the 2001 International Congress of Mathematicians.

5. questions concerning ~에 관한 질문

빈칸은 questions와 concerning자리에 모두 올 수 있다. concerning은 about과 같은 뜻으로 격식 있는 문체에 사용된다. problems, decisions등이 concerning앞에 올 수 있다.

Questions concerning vacation time should be brought to human resources.
